Fans of “Wheel of Fortune” are furious over the Jan. 30 episode in which a contestant named Megan Carbert lost the game, but viewers claim she got the answer right.
When I tried to answer the puzzle labeled “P_N_ _RC_ _ D” under the category “Critters”, it sounded as if Megan had said “pink orchid” and “something about orchids”. She got the answer, but it wasn't obvious to her when she tried to solve the puzzle.
In the clip, host Pat Sajak tells the contestant, “Maybe she was overthinking the type of orchid,” before revealing the correct answer and the missing letter, “pink orchid.”

The internet was furious with Sajak and the show, claiming that Calvert had actually guessed that the correct answer was “pink orchid.” However, the reason she did not receive the full $40,000 prize was because of her slurred pronunciation.

About the episode Good morning, America But on Thursday, Calvale broke the record.
“You know, I should have said 'pink' because I would have been $40,000 richer,” she told the magazine. “But I said 'something'.”
Calvert may have missed out on a major win, but he still took home $14,007.
“Those words have already stuck with me, and now all of America believes I said them, but I didn't,” Carbert said.
Hopefully, Calvale won't be giving away pink orchids any time soon.

Sajak will be replaced next season by former “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest. This show is currently airing season 41.
