He grew up learning from his father and grandfather and wanting to follow in the same footsteps.
“When I was little, I wanted to be my own boss and own a business,” Logan Kirk recalls. “I had a 'self-starter' mentality. When I was eight years old, I started a car wash business in my neighborhood. Cars have always been a passion for me since I was a child, and they still are. ”
When he was 14, Kirk's grandfather asked him to help detail a summer job he had taken up after retiring in his hometown of Galion.
“He had a huge impact on my work ethic. That same summer, I decided to market myself as Logan Kirk's Auto Detailer and put myself out there in my community. By the time I graduated high school, I had 50 regular customers and turned my passion for cleaning cars into a successful side business that lasted through college and early adulthood,” Kirk said. “This experience taught me the basics of customer service skills, many of which I still use in my business.”
Family insurance business became his career choice
Currently, Kirk is co-owner of Dostal & Kirk Inc. Insurance & Financial Services.
“As well as serving clients as an insurance advisor, I help individuals, families, businesses and farms protect what matters most to them,” he said. Our agency also offers retirement plans, health insurance, life insurance, and disability income coverage. ”
Kirk, 32, spent most of his childhood in Shelby, graduating from Shelby High School in 2010, graduating from Miami University at Oxford in 2014 and studying entrepreneurship at the Farmer School of Business. Meanwhile, his father founded Kirk Insurance & Financial Services in Galion in 2000, which became his Dostal & Kirk Insurance & Financial Services known today.
“My interest in insurance and financial services began at a young age watching my father and his career,” he said. “I didn't know what his day-to-day job entailed, but I knew he was a well-respected professional who helped people.
“Another thing I noticed early on was how involved he was in most of the sisters' classes and my extracurricular activities,” Kirk said. “It wasn't until I was in high school that I started thinking about what I really wanted to do in my own career. Due to his father's influence, he immediately thought about insurance. I wanted to build a career that would allow me to make a difference in people's lives, provide a good life for my family, and most importantly, be there for my family. In this day and age, work-life balance can easily get lost in the chaos. ”
The Marion office was in trouble and my job changed.
Mr. Kirk joined Dostal & Kirk in May 2016.
“When I started, I was in a sales role specializing in new business generation. Shortly after, our agency had an opportunity to acquire Schaller Insurance here in Marion, and my role has moved on to work with former owner John Schaller to take over the agency's clientele. We opened the Marion store in 2019, aligning with the identity we established at our Bucyrus, Galion, and Powell stores. We rebranded to Dostal & Kirk.”
Luke Henry is a principal at Henry Development Group.
“Logan has made a clear effort to add value to the Marion community both through business and personally,” Henry said. He is quick to provide support and engage. He is also passionate about his work and truly wants to help and protect people through the insurance services he and his team provide. ”
“Insurance can be complicated,” Kirk says. “It is up to our team to ensure that our clients are properly protected. I am passionate about the work we do for our clients because it makes a difference in their lives when the unexpected happens. Masu.”
“I consider myself extremely blessed,” he concluded. “At work, I get to help others every day. At home, I have an even more important role as a husband and father. Last year, I gave birth to a baby girl!”
