Black Theater United is launching the third year of its Broadway Marketing Internship Program, an initiative dedicated to creating new opportunities for emerging Black talent in theatrical marketing and advertising. The spirit of this work is equity and inclusion, two core values at the heart of BTU, which was founded to protect and advance Black talent, Black people, and Black lives.
During the eight-week program, interns work at six major New York City marketing firms: Serino Coyne, AKA, RPM, Situation, today's ticket Group and Spotco. Interns are hired by one of the companies. The intern program has a rich and robust program designed to provide education and experience in the areas of research, strategic planning, creative development/art direction, media planning and buying, social media, content development, partnership marketing, data analysis, and production. Plan included.
This internship invites all hired interns into a welcoming, open, and collaborative learning space, where they receive mentoring support from the BTU Rise committee and many members of BTU, and in a safe and open environment, Learn how the theater industry operates through the lens of advertising and advertising. Founding member.
All undergraduate students, regardless of race or ethnicity, are welcome to apply for this program. Interns are hired as full-time employees of one of the companies and earn $16 an hour. Each intern will also be provided apartment-style housing on St. John's University's beautiful Queens campus. The apartments are a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 40-minute train ride or 25-minute drive to the center of Times Square. Each intern will receive an unlimited MetroCard that can be used on both MTA buses and the MTA subway system during the summer. To further enrich the summer experience, interns are voluntarily invited to theater industry events and receive free tickets to Broadway shows, attractions, and other events.
