Do It Best, a hardware, lumber and building materials purchasing cooperative, has combined two divisions. As a result, both companies will now be under the leadership of Alison Flatjaud, head of e-commerce. She had already served as Vice President of Commerce at Do It Best for one year. Mr. Flatjaud will now assume the new title of Vice President of Marketing and E-Commerce.
Do It Best Marketing and E-Commerce Departments
The operational restructuring is part of Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Do It Best's overall efforts to prioritize the customer journey and drive growth in both areas, the company announced Monday.
Do It Best is #419 on the Digital Commerce 360 Top 1000 ranking of North America's largest online retailers.
“Allison's deep understanding of e-commerce, marketing and brand building makes her the ideal person to lead these combined functions,” said Dan Starr, president and CEO of Do It Best Corp. It's a choice. Under her leadership, we will continue to grow Do it Best and our member-owners in a highly competitive environment.”
Alison Flatjaud's work on Do It Best
“Do It Best'' promoted Mr Flatjaud's previous work in co-operatives. The company's press release mentions launching an e-commerce platform, migrating member-owned microsites, and increasing online sales. Following the reorganization, he will be responsible for leading marketing while expanding sales growth efforts.
“I am excited to take on this new challenge and continue to contribute to the success of Do It Best and our members,” said Flatjaud. “The integration of marketing and e-commerce reflects our commitment to serving the evolving needs of our members and their customers in a digital-first world. I look forward to leading this talented team and driving innovation. .”
Other e-commerce leadership changes
Flatjaud's new appointment follows two other leadership updates for Do It Best's e-commerce business at the end of January. Corbin Prows has been appointed manager of e-commerce platform operations. Additionally, Brianna Wells has been promoted to Marketing and Merchandising Department Manager for the e-commerce division.
Like Flatjoed, Mr. Prowse previously worked as an e-commerce development manager, helping launch Do It Best's e-commerce platform. He joined the cooperative in 2013.
Meanwhile, Wells joined Do It Best in 2022. Most recently, he served as the e-commerce marketing and content manager, focusing on content for the e-commerce platform.
“We are fully committed to maintaining our e-commerce momentum, with our primary focus on prioritizing online sales for our members,” Flatjoed said when the move was announced. “By creating a holistic shopping experience, we can increase foot traffic to our members' stores and ultimately increase sales. I am confident that the company will drive the continued success of our members and advance the company's goals in the years to come.”
