Fairleigh Dickinson University's Silverman College of Business is proud to announce the appointment of former New Jersey State Senator Bob Gordon to its advisory board. With a career spanning public service and corporate consulting, Gordon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his advisory group.
Throughout his distinguished career, Gordon has held outstanding leadership positions in a variety of industries, including as a state senator, public works commissioner, transportation policy maker, and corporate management consultant. His multifaceted skills and bipartisan relationships uniquely position him to provide valuable insight at the intersection of business and government.
“I am honored to join FDU's Silverman College Advisory Board. My career spans the public and private sectors, so I have seen first-hand the interaction between business and government. As a state senator representing Bergen and Passaic counties, Gordon served as the Senate Majority Conference Leader and chaired important committees on transportation and legislative oversight. His notable accomplishments include spearheading reforms to strengthen transparency and governance at the New Jersey Transit Authority and advocating for significant improvements to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
In 2018, Mr. Gordon was appointed by Governor Phil Murphy as one of five commissioners to the New Jersey Public Utilities Commission, leading the state's clean energy plan, including offshore wind power, transportation electrification, and He played a pivotal role in overseeing major solar power initiatives.
