TKC Fishwheel is applying for funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) to construct a specialized sawmill building in Red Devil, Alaska, an unincorporated Alaska Native community. You will be notified of this. Any administrative region is considered to be part of the 'unorganized administrative region'.
The project will include a specialized sawmill facility that will utilize local labor to mill locally harvested wood and the construction of housing packages that will be used to build affordable and energy efficient homes. contained.
Beneficiaries include workers throughout the Red Devils and TKC region, as well as households in Red Devils and throughout the region in need of affordable housing. The facility will be 108 feet by 86 feet (9,288 square feet). This project is located in Township 20N, Range 44W, Section 31 in the Red Devil, Alaska census designated area. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), as amended, EDA conducts environmental assessments (EAs) of proposed projects.
Additionally, pursuant to Executive Order 11988, EDA has determined that the project is located in a 100-year floodplain, is water dependent, and has no viable alternatives. The project is designed to minimize the risk of loss of life and property damage due to flooding and storm damage, and to minimize adverse impacts to floodplain values and functionality.
