These organizations provide a variety of services including prenatal care and postnatal support, early detection and prevention of health conditions, parenting education, menstrual and reproductive health education and products, and sexually transmitted disease testing and care.
The new program “plans to support women, regardless of background, identity, or income, in an empathetic and culturally informed way, and to help pregnant women and new mothers in particular during this crisis.” “We aim to help them get through this period,” DHS wrote on its website.
Among the organizations that will receive funding through the grant program is Maternity Care Coalition, which serves southeastern Pennsylvania.
