A graduate certificate in entrepreneurship enables students from a variety of disciplines to launch successful ventures, create innovative products, and make an impact on society.
Students who want to take their ideas off the napkin and out into the world will find a fast-paced, experiential environment to develop their skills as founders, alongside intensive instruction and soft skills development. We encourage you to apply for the Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
The 12 credit hour certificate applies to any field. Participants must be A University graduate students in good standing.
Registration is now open for two virtual information sessions on certificates and funding.
Register Monday, February 19th from 5-6 p.m.
Register by Thursday, March 7th from 6-7 p.m.
According to program manager Laura Moi, these sessions will focus on the structure of the certificate, the process for students to identify teams and ideas, and how to apply for available fellowship funding.

Overseen by the U of A Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (OEI), the certificate teams graduate students from business and non-business fields to explore real-world business ideas in an incubation-like environment and learn about new technologies. The purpose is to connect people with market opportunities.
OEI also offers Graduate Entrepreneurship Fellowships, which support promising graduate students in any field pursuing intensive entrepreneurial training. The Entrepreneurial Fellow will be expected to devote at least 20 hours per week to entrepreneurial pursuits during the fellowship year.
“Many students find this certificate most suitable for the 'all but the thesis' stage of a PhD, the second year of a professional master's degree, or as part of a full-time or executive MBA. ,” Moi said.
