Nothing tests your resolve as a parent like potty training. Drew Scott has been super busy with his 21-month-old son Parker, and his latest video update is pretty funny.
“Potty training is going well 🤪 #ParentingBeLike #parenting” property brothers the co-host captioned the Instagram video. In it, he recreates a scene that every parent of a young child has experienced.
Toilet training
The video is labeled as a “conversation with young children.” Scott, wearing jeans, a gray T-shirt and a brown leather jacket, asked his son, “Parker, do you need to pee?”
Nothing is simple for a toddler, so he replies, “No!” Of course, Parker is played by Scott in this video, who recreates his son in red footsie pajamas.
“Pee?” Scott asks again. As Parker, he replies, “No!” before crossing his arms and turning his head. He is standing in the bathroom and shaking his head. Oh, I went there more times than I can count!
“Parker, I think you should pee,” Scott calmly insisted, before Parker's character turned and urinated directly on the floor.Like a stream of pee (I hope it's just water!) flowing to the ground right in front of the toilet, Scott-as-Parker turned around and smiled shyly. Yeah! We always know when our kids have to pee, but it's not as simple as them just sitting on the potty and going to the toilet. Who would have thought that parent-child relationships would involve so many bodily fluids?!
Parents everywhere can relate. “Toddlers are a bit of a drunk 😂😂😂😂😂,” one person hilariously replied. Another shared: “Oh I remember it so well 😂😂😂.”
Others have given great advice as well. “Because they always want to go first… 🤣 I go from asking if they have to go to the bathroom to… ‘Do you want to go pee first? Or should I go first? I changed the question to “Are you okay?”” Lol! Game changer! ! 🏆🥇😂,” one person wrote. Hey, it's worth a try!
“Think about your reward system. Never go beyond bribes,” suggested another.
boy's father
The HGTV star, who shares a baby with Parker and wife Linda Huang, has previously opened up about his potty training struggles. Earlier this month, he shared a video from the perspective of “changing a baby boy's diaper as a father.” In it, the camera is positioned at what appears to be Parker, avoiding Scott from urinating on him.
He captioned the video, “Reflections on parenting.” so true!
baby on the way
Perhaps Scott and Huang will have a baby girl this time around and experience another aspect of potty training? Since the two are waiting to find out the gender until the baby is born, Only time will tell.
“We don't actually know if it's going to be a boy or a girl, so it's going to be a surprise,” Scott told PEOPLE last month.
It will likely be until the baby is born that Parker realizes he has a sibling. “I think he knows something.” Celebrity debt the star said about her toddler. “I say, 'Where's the baby?' and I put my hand on his stomach. I mean, he knows something, but I don't know if he fully understands it yet.”
Parker will be a great big brother – especially if he learns how to sit on the toilet first!
