Katie Holmes is a doting mother to her rapidly growing 17-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise.
Suri turned 18 this year and is likely to leave home to attend college this fall. It's safe to say that Katy and Suri have a close relationship, as we've rarely seen them go out together and the actress has talked about her motherhood in interviews. Not.
Incredibly protective, Katie kept Suri out of the spotlight when she was younger, despite being the daughter of two of Hollywood's most famous stars.
Heidi Skudder, parenting expert at “The Baby Shower” and founder of Positively Parenthood, opened up to HELLO! She talked about Katie's parenting style and how she has created the perfect balance between keeping Suri in the spotlight, mostly through work projects, without having her privacy invaded.
“Katie seems to have an incredibly sensitive parenting style when it comes to her relationship with Suri.
She's spoken in the past about how much she loves being a mom, and she definitely gives a lot to the mother-daughter relationship.
“Raising a daughter in the spotlight isn't easy, but Katie seems to be balancing it very well. Suri participates in some of Katie's work, but still keeps her out of the spotlight.” The challenge of social media can be very difficult for young girls today.
“Either Katie herself comes from a very close and loving family, or Suri has worked hard to maintain a connection with her daughter by being open and honest about her feelings and emotions so she can talk to her. I think so,” whenever Katie is needed. Hers is a beautiful mother-daughter relationship and one that should be celebrated. ”
Suri appeared in Katy's 2022 film Alone Together and sang Blue Moon during the opening credits. She also sang on 2021's “Rare Objects.”
Katie dedicated the film to her daughter. At the end of the film's credits, it says, “This film is dedicated to SURI.”
The Dawson's Creek star gave an interview to Yahoo! As for her daughter's role in Alone Together, she said: “She's very, very talented. She said she would do it, so I taped it and I let her do it.
“That's how I generally direct. It's like, 'This is what I think we all want. Do what you like.'” Why did you choose Suri for this job? When asked if that was the case, she answered: “I asked her to do it because I’m always looking for the highest level of talent.”
