Marquette's swim team won the UP Championship on Saturday.
• The boys team defeated second place Houghton 319-214. Gremlin's Beau Hatajja won the 100-meter backstroke and took third place in the 200-meter freestyle. Colin Lashio placed second in the 500-meter freestyle and third in the 200-meter individual medley. Ian Evans and Anderson Rimkeman placed second and third in the 100m breaststroke. The 400m freestyle relay team took second place. Baha Saleem took third place in the diving competition.
• Houghton girls finished fifth. The 400m freestyle relay team placed third. Meg Ruohonen and Naomi Frahm placed third and fourth in the diving competition.

The Michigan Tech women's basketball team lost a 70-45 decision to Northern Michigan on Saturday. The Huskies trailed by one point at halftime, but won 39-15 in the second half. Kaitlyn Meister led the Huskies with 14 points. Makaylee Kuhn and Anna Ruud each scored 16 points for NMU.
The Tech men's team upset the 24th-ranked Wildcats 80-69. For the Huskies, Marcus Tomaszek had 34 points, Dan Geresger added 22 points, and Carson Smith led Northern with 20 points.

Both Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan hockey teams had the weekend off.

On Saturday night, the Portage Lake Pioneers defeated the De Pere Deacons 4-2.
The Calumet Wolverines lost to the Fox Cities IceDogs 8-0.

The Reims Winter Classic Oldtimers Hockey Tournament concludes today, tomorrow and Sunday at Meadowbrook Arena in Reims. The Red Wings defeated the Flames 5-0 on Saturday, ending their losing streak at two. James Reimer made 38 saves. Patrick Kane, JT Compher, Dylan Larkin, David Perron and Lucas Raymond scored.
