Speaking at the inaugural graduation ceremony of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Ghana, the Minister of Education, Yaw Osei Adutum, said that in a dynamic emerging economy like Ghana, the importance of professional marketing education is fundamental to economic growth. He established that marketing education enables individuals to develop skills and knowledge to identify market opportunities, understand consumer behavior, and develop strategies to meet consumer needs.
Dr Adutum said the government had launched a progressive strategy aimed at transforming higher education in the country.
“Through collaborative efforts, Ghana's Gross Tertiary Enrollment Rate (GTER) has consistently increased and currently stands at 22%, representing significant progress from 18.84% a year ago,” he said. Stated.
The Minister reaffirmed the sector's commitment to fostering innovation and creativity, with a focus on STEM education to prepare students for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and drive economic development.
CIMG's Director of Educational Consulting, Adam Saleh, said the introduction of the Professional Marketing qualification will help produce graduates with the marketing skills and mindset needed to drive industry growth, competitiveness and business sustainability. He expressed confidence that it would be possible.
