Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi arrived in India on February 22nd. This will be Khosrowshahi's third visit to India, having managed the company's business in over 70 countries around the world since 2017. He seems to be making the most of this visit. Here's a look at what he did during his visit.
If you are taking the shuttle: On his first day in India, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi explored Uber Shuttle in Bangalore with members of the Uber technology team that develops products for India and the world. Uber Shuttle adds to the existing transportation options in India. These range from cars to two-wheelers to three-wheelers and form part of the company's multimodal strategy. Uber's technology team has integrated technology-enabled features into Shuttle, similar to other products available in the Uber app.
Uber Shuttle was launched in 2021 to provide office users with a safe, reliable and comfortable commuting option and is currently available in several cities including Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Conversation with Nandand Nilekani: Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi also had a conversation with Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani in Bangalore on his first day of arrival. In the chat, he acknowledged that India is Uber's “toughest” market to break into. “Indian customers are very demanding and don't want to pay anything (lol). I'm very proud of the team. India is our (Uber) gateway to the world. India is a success. 'But success here will set the standard for success in other markets around the world,' Khosrowshahi said on the topic 'Building population-scale technology.'

Meetings with ministers and business figures. He also held talks with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Gautam Adani. After a meeting with Minister Piyush Goyal, he wrote about X: “It was really nice to meet the Minister.” @piyushgoyal He will be speaking in Delhi to discuss our efforts to enable sustainable and digitally enabled transport, as well as our efforts to promote driver welfare.”
He also met with Adani Chairman Gautam Adani and praised Dara Khosrowshahi for the company's vision in line with India's growth story. Adani called Uber's expansion in India exciting and praised the company's efforts to energize Indian drivers with X.
