Ratings and viewership data can be found on this week's (March 13) Big Business episode of AEW dynamite.
Hit Wrestlenomics, dynamite It had 801,000 viewers and a 0.27 rating among 18-49s.
This was a very disappointing result for Mercedes Mone's AEW debut, and was largely unchanged from last week's numbers.
AEW adopted a similar strategy to CM Punk's 2021 Rampage debut, not announcing Mone's appearance in advance and putting her in the opening corner of the show. The event also included Samoa Joe's world title defense, but that too took place early on the card, with the main event spot going to the colder Riho vs. Willow Nightingale match.
This strategy backfired on Dynamite. That's because it wasn't the big numbers people were expecting from Big Business. More than 1 million people tuned in to see Mercedes open, but the rest of the broadcast couldn't sustain the wave.
Could the change to daylight saving time in the US last weekend have something to do with these disappointing numbers? Probably not, but let me know in the comments below why that is, or any thoughts I have to explain these results. You can guess other reasons.
