In a significant step towards sustainable agriculture and the use of renewable energy in India, Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), the world's largest fertilizer cooperative and leader in the fertilizer manufacturing industry, has announced the launch of ACME Clean We signed a memorandum of understanding with Tech Solutions Private Limited (ACME). This initiative will lead to significant decarbonization of the economy, reduce dependence on fossil fuel imports, and enable India to take leadership in green hydrogen technology and market. Ammonia will be produced through renewable energy routes at ACME's plant in Gopalpur, Odisha.
ACME shall hold green credits and trade with other countries in the form of internationally transferred mitigation results (ITMOs) under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
The commercial grade ammonia supplied under this contract will be used at IFFCO's Paradeep unit in Odisha and Kandla unit in Gujarat, where it is required for manufacturing compound fertilizers.
This partnership not only demonstrates both organizations' commitment to environmental stewardship, but also sets a benchmark for the industry in the transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
