Alex O'Neill.
General agency Bastion has appointed Alexandra O'Neill as Sydney-based head of brand marketing.
O'Neill will be responsible for all marketing communications for the Australian and New Zealand markets and will work alongside Bastion's senior management team to drive brand strategy and business growth.
She is the former Group Marketing Manager for venue group Solotel, where she developed effective revenue generating marketing and PR strategies.
“This is an exciting move to Bastion and I look forward to working with a team that is focused on creativity and strategy. As Head of Brand Marketing, I will be focused on building the Bastion brand, elevating its position in the industry and communicating the brand story to the marketplace,” said O'Neill.
Matt McCann, managing director of experience growth, said the move was in line with the company's plans to reimagine its marketing strategy following its incredible growth over the past 12 months.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have someone of Alex's calibre join our team. She has had an impressive career in the hospitality industry, including as Marketing Manager for Solotel Group, managing multiple brands,” McCann said.
“With a string of exciting announcements coming from Bastion both domestically and internationally, this role required someone with a keen ability to understand the operational needs of a multifaceted, full-service marketing and communications agency like Bastion, as well as the impactful work we do under our combined umbrella.”
Alex's appointment follows Bastion's announcement of the appointment of Cheuk Chan as CEO of ANZ and its acquisition of digital creative agency Analog Folk Australia.
