Raising children is not easy, Tick tock Dad will soon be successful.
The viral video recently surfaced again after it was shared by the jasmiumkjpj account on June 15 to an audience of more than 7 million on the short video format platform, but it dates back to 2021. It was first posted by the prank's orchestrator himself on his personal TikTok page rhythmlessman, and further more It has been highly engaging, garnering a whopping 23 million+ total views.
Using a few cameras, Alexa, and a remote-controlled light, the father captured the moment his son and his friends sneaked out of the house in the middle of the night and returned home for no apparent reason. Not surprisingly, a follow-up video offering a step-by-step look at the epic father-son “visit” moment was just as well-received as the original, garnering nearly 21 million views as of July 2024.
“If I see my son and his friends sneaking out I gotta do it when they get home,” the father captioned the video, thanking Alexa for her help. In it, his son and countless friends are seen escaping what they think is a run for their money, until the lights come on and a female, robotic-sounding voice announces, “Hey Jesse! Next time, just say you want to go outside so you don't have to climb out the window with all your friends. Have fun, be safe, and I hope I didn't upset your parents when I started talking. This video might make you a TikTok sensation. Thanks for the content!”
At first stunned and silent, with one foot inside the house and the other outside the window, the teenagers burst into laughter as soon as the announcement was over, followed by Jesse walking up to the Ring camera, flipping his dad off, swearing and telling him he loved him at the same time. Despite the grandiosity of the prank and the impressive number of views, this last bit didn't sit well with many viewers.
“It was great until the shit happened. Too much. I think he knew it,” commented one TikTok user, while another questioned, “Someone talk about their kid disrespecting their dad? Giving your dad the middle finger is justified.” However, judging from rhythmlessman's past videos, his relationship with his kids is laid back and playful, and they seem to understand each other well enough to know when the lines aren't to be crossed.
As another commenter pointed out, “Obviously [sic] The kids and their parents get along well and don't mind if they say bad things about you, so why do you think it's more of a problem than the parents?' teeth To us, the best part of this video seems to be the creative and mischievous way this dad found to teach his kid a lesson.
See for yourself how Dad did it and take notes – he's a truly ingenious man.
Most people loved the idea. “Just perfect parenting,” said TikTok user MummaBear. “I love this!! I thought I'd be seen as the cool mom on tt. [sic] “But you're better!” tweeted another TikTok parent. “My parents were exactly like this when I was growing up and that's why we're still best friends at 27!” posted a third. It's a thin line between being your child's best friend and parenting them well, but once you manage to do it, it's like finding the Holy Grail!
