A prominent cryptocurrency company is launching a new cryptocurrency hardware wallet with touchscreen functionality.
In a new announcement on social media platform X, Ledger says it will be releasing a new product in its line of cryptocurrency wallets that feature touchscreens.
“Introducing Ledger Flex. Alongside Ledger Stax, Ledger Flex is the latest addition to our new category of secure touchscreen devices.”
The company Website, The new Flex model features a 2.84″ touchscreen, while the Stax model has a 3.4″ touchscreen. Both wallets are compatible with thousands of digital assets and feature Ledger's Secure Element chip and proprietary operating system for increased security and accessibility.
A hardware wallet is a device that stores digital assets without connecting to the internet, making it resistant to hacking and other online threats.
Announced in December 2022 and launched earlier this year, Ledger's Stax wallet was designed by the inventor of Apple's famed iPod.
At the time, Leisure CEO Pascal Gautier said:
“This is the first secure touchscreen and the first example of a touchscreen user interface powered by the Secure Element chip, which is so critical for cryptographic security.”
It is the first ever curved E-Ink display, the first to use organic semiconductor materials on a plastic substrate rather than silicon on glass, and the only screen manufactured at less than 100 degrees.”
