The Algorand Foundation CEO's X social media account was hacked, marking the third major exploit by a cryptocurrency-related X account this month.

“[Staci Warden’s] Your account has been compromised. Don't click on any links or reply to her DMs (direct messages) on her account. We are in the process of recovering it. ”
Some of the hacker's messages include reposted links to recordings titled “Dolls Ruined Bitcoin,” as well as links with incorrect content. Claim Warden was fired from Algorand and lost his affiliate company.
The hack of Worden's account marks the third time in January that bad actors have targeted the social media accounts of crypto executives and regulators.
On January 9, an abuser accessed the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) X account and falsely claimed that the regulator had approved a spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded fund at the time.
Additionally, on January 18th, hackers took over the supply chain-focused blockchain VeChain (VET)'s ” asked them to send money to.
News of the hack does not appear to have affected ALGO's price, as the digital asset is trading at $0.167 at the time of writing, up 4.2% in the past 24 hours.
