Born and raised in Swindon and attending Bladon Forest School in Parton, she has two children, aged 11 and 15, with ex-husband Laurence Fox, whom she split from in 2016.
Billie rarely comments on her relationship with the actor-turned-political activist, who was recently suspended from GB News for making “misogynistic” comments about female journalists.
However, in an interview with British Vogue magazine, the Swindon-born actress said co-parenting amid the ongoing controversy was “extremely difficult”.
“What is most important to me is the privacy and anonymity of children. Children should not be an extension of their parents and have the right to forge their own identity,” she said.
Billie's candid interview with British Vogue about her ex-husband and parenting came just days before a High Court judge ruled that Fox had defamed them in a separate incident.
Asked how he is dealing with Fox's ongoing controversy as a parent, Billie said, “In order to be consistent, I shut everything down and keep a very strict routine with my kids.'' “I keep my kids close. That's all I can do,” he added.
“I try not to let people say things to me, but it's really difficult. I don't read books, but people want to talk about them.”
“I had to learn the hard way that you can only control yourself and your reactions to things. It's really hard. I hate it.”
