An avid fan of fitness, Chanel Edmond could not imagine her life without participating in at least one sporting activity. As she grew older, the demands of her life took priority and she developed new interests. It was her desire to get healthy from her illness and lose her weight in the process.
she tells Lifestyle“The inspiration to take on my health and fitness journey came from literally spending most of a year being sick. I already had symptoms of arthritis and occasional pain in my chest and abdomen. I got tested for it, but no diagnosis was made. Those were enough health scares to set me straight.”
Her concerns turned out to be valid when, during a conversation with her family, she learned that they had various health problems as they got older. Adding to her anxiety was her realization that her diet, which included self-imposed fasting periods, and her previous weight loss exercises were doing her body more harm than good. Ta.
Realizing that he could rebalance his condition by making simple changes, Edmund decided it was time to take his health into his own hands. “When I embarked on this new program, I just wanted to lose weight. But this journey brought me so much more than that. It completely changed my outlook on life. My colleagues were friendlier to me, but I didn't understand why until it hit me. It was only this trip that changed.”
I drink water first thing in the morning and have a special tea mix and protein shake for breakfast between 7am and 9am. The fluid intake continues throughout, usually until lunch time.
non-negotiable
Her diet consists of non-negotiables such as vegetables, protein such as chicken breast, and a combination of boiled ground meat, rice and peas. And her dinner usually consists of a protein shake with chicken, or a small amount similar to lunch.
“I usually exercise in the afternoon or at night after I get home. I don't exercise every day. When I'm trained with discipline and intention, I exercise up to five times a week and at least five times a week. I run 3 times in. Life is “living” so I also had weeks where I didn't train. On average, my current routine lasts 10 to 45 minutes,” she added.
She loves dance training and enjoys a combination of cardio and strength training. She said: “My backyard is my gym! I mainly do bodyweight training and walking, but I've also invested in some weights and bars.”
I felt confident enough during my pregnancy to know that I could get back on track, as I noticed that my quality of movement had improved and my appearance and life in general had improved. And she did. This motivated her to help others who are on a similar journey to achieve their health goals.
“When I know that I can support others and help them look and feel better, I can help them improve their lives, not just in their physical health, but also in how they show up in their personal and professional lives.” “I was very happy to know that it was making a huge difference and impact on my life,” she said, “and my family life.”
The wellness transformation coach, who named her business “Get Healthy With Shen,” now offers wellness consultations and one-on-one coaching plans for weight loss, weight gain, toning, improving energy and gut health, and more. Online fit camps, online body transformation challenges, skin care programs, and retail supplements are also available. “I am happiest when my clients receive results that exceed their expectations.”
The most important lesson she learned in this important role is that while physical transformation takes hard work, the journey requires a more mental approach in the long run.
Grateful that this trip opened a window of opportunity for her to discover a new passion for helping others, and she met amazing people from all over the world, especially women.
“I have built my business around growing my community, helping others achieve a better quality of life, and coaching and mentoring them to drive personal results. “I also get to share this life with my family. We enjoy being active and have learned to eat more efficiently as the years have gone on,” she revealed.
