HOLYOKE — Holyoke Community College recently welcomed elizabeth olson She has been appointed manager of alumni relations and annual giving at East Hampton University.
Olson graduated from HCC in 2018 and also earned a bachelor's degree in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
She joined HCC’s Institutional Advancement Department in November 2023.
Ms. Olson comes to HCC from Boston University, where she served as senior associate director of annual giving programs. Previously, he worked as the Amherst Endowment Coordinator at Amherst College.
SPRINGFIELD — A new weekly radio show and podcast that tells you what's happening in Western Massachusetts will add more local news to the area's public radio stations starting Friday. “The Rundown with Carrie Sardo” premieres February 2 from 9 to 10 a.m.

“The Rundown” is produced and hosted by Carey Sardo, an experienced, award-winning multimedia journalist who has reported on everything from the arts to politics. Her investigation called for justice for homeless people, called attention to racial inequality in the construction industry, and sparked an international debate about two Norman Rockwell paintings.
Sardo is known to many public television viewers as the host of NEPM-TV's “Connecting Point” for six of its 13 seasons on the air, and as a regular stand-in host on 88.5 NEPM's “All Things Thinking.” It will become well known.
NORTHAMPTON — ServiceNet, a large mental health and human services agency based in Northampton and serving all four counties in western Massachusetts, recently michael kuta Served as Vice President of Strategy and Program Development.
Kuta comes to his new role after 16 years at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield, where he gained a diverse portfolio of progressive management experience. Mr. Kuta's path to leadership began at Elms College in Chicopee, where he changed his major from accounting to psychology and sociology before graduating in 2007. Springfield — Sanford Belden has joined the Loomis Community Board of Directors as a full-time member. He has lived with his wife in Loomis Village, South Hadley, since 2018.
Mr. Belden retired in 2006 as CEO of Community Bank System, a large regional financial institution headquartered in Syracuse, New York, with 225 bank branches in four states and various other financial services operations. . He previously served as a senior executive at a large international bank in New York City. A major national bank headquartered in Minneapolis. Belden has served on more than 30 governance committees for for-profit and nonprofit organizations across the United States, including the board of directors of the American Red Cross in Washington, DC. Locally, Belden is a member of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Smith College; Kestrel Land Trust; and Eco Technology Center. Additionally, Belden has served as president of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, Cooley Dickinson Hospital, and Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity.
Belden was born and raised on a farm in Hatfield that has been in his family since 1690. He and his wife have three children and his nine grandchildren.
