VILNIUS, Lithuania, May 28, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ — The European Marketing Confederation (EMC) is pleased to announce that renowned author and inspirational speaker, Simon Sinek, has been awarded the Marketing Lifetime Achievement Award. The prestigious award recognizes Sinek's extraordinary contributions to the field of marketing, particularly through his Golden Circle theory, which has inspired leaders around the world to achieve success through purpose-driven action.
“The European Marketing Federation's Board of Directors decided to recognize an individual who has achieved outstanding results in the field of marketing every year on International Marketing Day. Every country fielded a nominee and voted for the most outstanding individual. This year's winner is Simon Sinek,” said Ralf Strauss, Chairman of the European Marketing Federation's Board of Directors, at the awards ceremony in Vilnius, Lithuania, today.
Simon Sinek famously popularized the concept of “why” in his 2009 “TED Talk.” The talk is the third most-viewed talk of all time on TED.com, with over 40 million views and subtitles in 47 languages. Sinek's Golden Circle theory, focused on the fundamental questions of “why,” “how,” and “what,” has revolutionized leadership and marketing strategies around the world. Starting with “why” and understanding the purpose behind actions helps leaders inspire their teams and build a solid foundation for success.
Visionary Leader
Described as a visionary thinker with an extraordinary intellect, Simon Sinek has dedicated his professional life to advancing a vision of a world where people wake up inspired, feel safe wherever they are, and leave their day at work fulfilled. His groundbreaking insights are shared in best-selling books such as “Start with WHY,” “Leaders Eat Last” and “The Infinite Game,” as well as through his podcast, “A Bit of Optimism.”
Sinek's work extends beyond the marketing and corporate world. He frequently collaborates with the U.S. military, various government agencies, and numerous non-profit organizations. In 2021, he founded The Curve, a group of chiefs and sheriffs dedicated to overhauling modern policing to ensure that justice is administered with dignity, fairness, and impartiality.
“When people choose to inspire others, it helps grow our movement. We are honored that Simon was selected for this award. Thank you for nominating him and for all you do to positively impact those around you. Together, we can make the world a better place,” cheered Simon's team.
A thorough selection process
The selection process for the European Marketing Confederation's (EMC) Lifetime Achievement Award is a two-stage approach. Firstly, EMC members are invited to nominate candidates they believe are worthy of the award. These nominations are then compiled into a shortlist which is distributed to all EMC member countries for voting.
Nominees are selected through a variety of methods depending on the country, including public voting within the marketing industry and decisions made by the association's board of directors. After collecting and counting the votes from each country, Simon Sinek was selected as this year's winner.
A day to celebrate marketing
EMC has officially designated May 27 as International Marketing Day. This global initiative aims to highlight the vital role of marketing in driving business growth and societal progress and to foster pride in the marketing profession.
May 27th was chosen to celebrate marketing because Philip Kotler, known as the “father of modern marketing,” was born in Chicago on this day in 1931. Kotler wrote over 80 books and had a major impact on the development of marketing around the world.
On this momentous occasion, EMC invites all marketing enthusiasts to join in: “International Marketing Day is a unique opportunity to highlight the strategic importance of marketing and its positive impact on organizations. Let's come together and celebrate marketing professionals and their achievements. Celebrate with your colleagues, customers and partners, launch public initiatives and internal events, and share personal stories about your passion for marketing. Let's celebrate marketing big and brightly and showcase its vital role in shaping the future,” urges EMC Vice President Alvydė Palaimaitė.
