“It would have been fine if it was just a fire, but with an explosion of this magnitude and all the explosives we had on hand, it affected not only us but everyone,” said Chris, general manager of IDC Industries. Mansur said.
The hole in the roof has been repaired, but more permanent fixes are needed.
Meanwhile, the company is looking for ways to restore power after an explosion set a utility pole ablaze.
“We've been trying to get DTE to come and restore power for two days, but now we're running on a generator, which costs $30,000 plus one month's operating costs. '' Mansour said.
DTE told the company that the wire had melted in the fire and would need to be replaced by IDC Industries.
Mansour said insurance companies are confused by the situation and are trying to determine what their insurance will cover.
Clinton Township officials said the e-cigarette retailer where the fire occurred was not permitted to store the hazardous materials that caused the explosion.
“Every business around here is suffering right now because of one person's negligence,” Mansour said.
