The snow at Wegmans is still starting to melt, but parents of school-age kids know that now is the time to sign up for summer camp. Many of the region's well-known camps open registration at the beginning of the calendar year, but many are notorious for selling out quickly. And for parents looking to book summer camps and activities for weeks on end, as you know, many of us have jobs in July and August, you can find fun, safe, reliable and affordable options. It can be a little difficult to find options that won't sell out for the price.
I just sat in an hour-long Zoom meeting to coordinate a few weeks of time together with the parents of my child's friends, and I'm juggling a summer calendar covered in color-coded post-its. , I understand your pain. This list will by no means solve all your summer problems, but we hope it will revitalize or ease your summer plans.
A quick note when looking at this list: We have not included these fees as they can vary widely depending on the age of your child, membership level, length of day, meal options, aftercare, and transportation. not. Other options: This list is by no means exhaustive. Most communities, including the city of Syracuse, offer a variety of camping options through their parks and recreation departments, but they are too numerous to include here. Additionally, many fitness and sports facilities also offer summer camp options, from karate, gymnastics, rock climbing, and even golf courses. And don't forget, there's always YouTube.
