Annual recognition of four champions of women's participation, development and leadership
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, Fla. – In honor of Women's History Month, the Florida Tech Alumni Association is honoring four women (students, alumni, staff, and faculty) who exemplify the spirit of promoting women's participation and development within the university. praised. University community.
Four award winners were recognized at the annual WISE Awards – Women Inspiring Success and Excellence – held in the Hartley Room earlier this month.
Each aims to support, mentor and lead in the advancement of women in their communities and workplaces.

The WISE Awards were inspired by Florida Tech alumnus and former university administrator Joan Bixby.
Bixby earned a master's degree in contract and procurement management from Florida Institute of Technology in 1975, began his career at the university in 1965 as director of development, and remained an active member of the university community until his death in December 2011. It continued to exist.

Dr. Meredith Carroll, He is a professor of aviation human factors and founder and director of the Advanced Technology and Aviation Systems Interaction and Learning (ATLAS) Laboratory at the Florida Institute of Technology's College of Aeronautics. She has over 20 years of experience in studying human and team performance and training in complex systems.
Dana Washington I joined Florida Tech ROTC in April 2014 as a Human Resources Assistant. She began her 10-year military career in the US Army in 1989 as a human resource management specialist.
While in the Army, she was stationed in Friedberg, Germany and deployed to Desert Storm/Shield, among others. She was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. After her honorable discharge, she worked at Florida Southern College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in human resources management.
Isabella Perdomo He is an undergraduate student at Florida Institute of Technology with a dual degree in biomedical engineering and computer engineering. She is the President of the Florida Institute of Technology Biomedical Engineering Society and is deeply immersed in her research specializing in 3D bioprinting and biomanufacturing.
She researched, designed, and developed environmentally friendly marine antifouling systems and starred in the Emmy Award-winning documentary “Ecohero Antarctica: An Expedition to the Bottom of the Earth.”
Christy Lines '18 MPA, He is an experienced business owner and community leader with over 20 years of experience in both the military and civilian sectors.
Known for her expertise in organizing special events, she volunteers extensively with school-age children, military families, Rotary, and nonprofit organizations. She founded her group, Melbourne Women in Rock Networking, a free platform that brings together her 1,300 women from various industries for monthly in-person meetings. Professionally, the best version of her has an excellent track record as a market leader in her media.
