Google's software engineers have a new colleague: AI.
Google announced its Q3 2024 financial results on Tuesday, highlighting the role AI will play within the company.
“Today, more than a quarter of all new code at Google is generated by AI, then reviewed and accepted by engineers,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai said on an earnings call. “This allows our engineers to do more and move faster.”
Google now has 181,269 employees, down more than 1,000 from the same time last year (182,381 in Q3 2023).
