AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – There is some truth to this viral “OMG it worked” Facebook scam.
It seems like you only see posts and updates from the same 25 or so friends. However, this can be changed without copying and pasting the post.
You can also use this trick to remove ads from your Facebook feed. Facebook added a “feed” option, but not many people know about it or forget it exists.
You can find it by tapping the photo at the bottom of the screen. Several options will appear at the top of the page. All, Favorites, Friends, Groups, Pages.
On a computer, there is a “feed” on the left side of the timeline.
Tap or click Friends to see all your friends' posts in chronological order.
The most recent posts appear first. “Favorites” are the friends you have selected as the people you most want to meet.
If you haven't set up a list of favorite friends, Facebook will do so for you based on its algorithm. Friends are added here because you interact with them most often.
They share messages, like posts, and have many mutual friends.
To change your list of favorites, search for them and mark them as favorites.
You can have up to 30 favorites in your list, so you'll need to delete a few first.
Don't worry, you'll remain friends, they're just not BFFs and they won't know you replaced them.
I found that if I chose to view my “favorites” feed, not only would I see those friends, but I would also see far fewer ads.
Looking at the basic “home feed”, 30% of what was shown was sponsored ads.
However, if I chose to only see friends or favorites, no ads were shown. Not at all.
You can also change who sees you most on Facebook by adjusting Facebook's algorithm and leaving likes on your posts.
Facebook values reactions more than likes and likes. Heart emojis and angry emojis have a greater impact on what you see.
It takes a little time to change the algorithm, but it works. The only downside to changing your favorite feed is that it takes time.
You'll have to search for each friend you want to add to your list, but it's worth the effort if you only want to see a few specific friends from time to time, or if you don't want ads covering your Facebook timeline. .
