jaspera generative artificial intelligence app company, has acquired Clipdrop, an AI image creation and editing platform, from Stability AI.
The move not only strengthens Jasper's position in the overall market, but also marks its entry into the European market, the company said in a press release on Thursday (February 22).
According to the release, the acquisition will enable Jasper to provide a comprehensive co-pilot for enterprise marketing teams, allowing them to develop more personalized and optimized marketing strategies.
Founded in 2020 by Google alumni Cyril Diagne, Damien Henry, and Jonathan Blanchett, Clipdrop is used by millions of creative designers and brands around the world, according to a release. That's what it means.
The platform offers users the ability to edit existing images, create new images, and generate different image variations in terms of size, detail, and style for each release. For marketers and brand leaders, Clipdrop's technology powers their advertising strategies and helps them develop creative content that aligns with their brand.
Jasper CEO Timothy Young said in a release that Clipdrop's addition to Jasper furthers Jasper's goal of becoming the industry's most comprehensive marketing co-pilot.
The acquisition also allows Jasper to expand its footprint in Europe, with plans to invest in talent and customer acquisition in the region, according to the release.
According to the release, the Clipdrop team will continue to operate from its headquarters in Paris. Stability AI will continue to work with Clipdrop on research and provide models to the platform.
The acquisition of Clipdrop was completed on February 20th, and enterprise customers now have instant access to the platform through the Jasper API, according to the release. Over time, Clipdrop functionality will be further integrated into Jasper's co-pilot. Individuals can still purchase his Clipdrop as a standalone product through Clipdrop.co.
In another development in this space, Amazon Web Services announced in November that it had introduced an AI-powered image generator likely to be used in the advertising, e-commerce, media, and entertainment industries.
In October, Meta said it began rolling out AI-powered generation capabilities for ad creatives in Ads Manager, aimed at helping advertisers create and optimize ad campaigns.
