COSHOCTON – A Zanesville real estate company has opened a new office in Coshocton as the market expands.
Leonard And Newland Real Estate Services recently opened a branch at 1100 Fairy Falls Drive, Suite 5. The company also has offices in Zanesville, Cambridge, Caldwell, Newcomerstown, New Concord and will soon open an office in Newark.
The company is owned by Jeff Leonard and Wayne Newland. Official agents on site will be Linda Weber and Sarah Young, who will also serve as office manager. There is also a possibility that three real estate agents will be added.
“We were kind of at a plateau,” Newland said of the Coshocton business. “But once you actually bring in and set up an office and have an actual physical location, that tends to attract some companies and other agents.”
Newland said one of the agents pointed them in the direction of Coshocton. The company provides a variety of real estate services, including buying and selling residential and commercial properties, auctions, and property management.
Leonard said the community has been very welcoming and has received great support from groups such as the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce, the Coshocton Port Authority and Mayor Mark Mills.
“One of the things we value is community involvement and supporting local businesses when we are involved in the community,” Leonard said. “We want to be a part of every community we are in and bring value to the community. We are not just here to mine and sell homes and make a profit. We are not here to improve the quality of this community.”
Although Leonard and Newland are not involved in the construction of new homes, they have an interest in such projects. Newland said the Intel chip factory coming to Licking County and related companies will lead to an explosion of home sales across central Ohio in the coming years.
“Everything is going to expand, but this is a prime location,” Newland said of Coshocton. “Housing is a huge crisis right now. Intel executives and senior executives are chasing people all over the region, saying, 'You guys should start building housing. It's coming soon.'”
