SINGAPORE — Singapore's riverfront dining and lifestyle hub, CQ @ Clarke Quay, will officially reopen in the second quarter of 2024 after a series of renovations.
The facility, in a media release on Thursday (February 1), said the hubs, which are currently in the final stages of development, include The Riverfront (Blocks A and D); The Riverfront (Blocks A and D); announced the introduction of new and refreshed lifestyle, dining and entertainment options across three zones at The Riverfront (Blocks A and D). warehouse (block B), and circuits (blocks C and E).
The Riverfront (Blocks A and D)
New pet-friendly amenities, including hydration bays and pet disposal stations, are scheduled to open at The Riverfront in the first quarter of this year. Pet-friendly dining options will also be available, and pet-friendly events such as talks, workshops and river walks will continue in the coming months.
New food and beverage tenants include Chapters by Drinks & Co, Mexican bar and grill Sanchos, Grand Konak Turkish and Lebanese cuisine, 24-hour concept Nana Thai Royale, and dessert cafe Overscoop. Home Singapore, a Duo F&B concept, operates as a cafe during the day and transforms into a live music lounge at night. Current live music bars and pubs will remain open.
New wellness services will also be introduced, including a gym and fitness center called Bold Fitness. and Natureland Spa Therapy.
Warehouse group (B block)
The renovated Warehouse, which opens in the first quarter, will feature a new “Fire Fish” mural created by artists Yip Yu Chong and Tobyat.
The mural draws inspiration from Clarke Quay's heritage as a Teochew enclave and a busy riverside trading port, the region's firewood trade, the red and white Teochew bumboats that once lined the Singapore River, and the coolies of Reed Bridge. I'm getting it.
Visitors will find heritage panels and bronze plate tiles throughout the area that tell the rich history of the Singapore River.
The Reid Bridge landing has also been improved, with a staircase that doubles as seating and common space, and a new accessibility ramp. The seats incorporate original wood from her TwaKows, a historic freighter formerly on CQ.
The Warehouse Zone will also feature new tenants, including music retailer Swee Lee Clark Quay and a cafe and bar concept that will host fan events and live performances. The store will have a click-and-collect counter and a dedicated “reservation-only” room.
The zone will also open a FairPrice Finest store with a grocery bar. Both tenants are scheduled to open by the end of February. East Treasure Chinese Restaurant also recently reopened.
Circuit (blocks C and E)
SG Hawker, a casual dining spot, will reopen at the circuit. Food options include Michelin-certified food stalls like Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang and Shinyun Chicken Rice. Zouk, Slingshot and other live music and entertainment outlets remain open.
Lower daytime temperatures and new sustainability features
The existing Angel canopy was upgraded to reduce solar heat by 70% and optimize daylight conditions. It is also equipped with a new omnidirectional fan that can lower the temperature by approximately 2 degrees through vaporized mist cooling. CQ says the addition will reduce energy consumption by about 50 percent.
Following the upgrade of the building's chiller plant, CQ's green building rating with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) has been upgraded from Green Mark to Green Mark Gold+ certification.
Ahead of the launch, visitors can take advantage of various lunchtime promotions and two hours of free parking from 8am to 6pm daily. More information about the improved CQ will be available soon on the CQ website.
