Parents of students at Mayday High School in Manchester can benefit from workshops aimed at imparting techniques and strategies to support their children academically.
It will be held on Thursday, March 14, in Cecil Charlton Hall, Manchester Diocesan Library.
It will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In an interview with Sandra Daley-Gordon, Student Support Pathways Coach at the Department of Education. The Gleanerstated that promoting collaboration between home and school is essential to creating a supportive environment for learning and growth.
She pointed out that parents play an important role in their children's academic success.
“We deeply understand the importance of education and know we are doing our part to raise awareness of the important role parents play in the lives and overall academic success of their children. “We want the whole community to know,” she said.
This workshop will serve as a platform for parents to learn and apply strategies that have been proven effective in Jamaican classrooms.
“We believe that by working together, we can create a supportive environment that fosters learning and growth for all students,” Daly-Gordon said.
