Bucaia hit three 3-pointers in the third quarter and the Green Wave outscored the Hornets 15-5 to take a 31-24 lead.
Amaya Todd led McCann Tech with 10 points.
Hannah Boisvert was honored as the only senior on the team on Senior Night, scoring seven points.
“She's been huge for us,” McCantech coach Justin Kratz said recently of Boisvert. “I mean, I'm glad she kept going. It was definitely a tough season for her. But I really appreciate her leadership. I appreciate it. She has a very fierce game face. She's one of the nicest kids I've ever met. She's nice to our underclassmen. She's in the locker room a few times at halftime and at the end of the game. She's one of the nicest kids I've ever met. I said some things that people needed to hear and needed to say.”
“She is a senior who is active in the co-op. She leaves work early to go to practices and games, so she is literally giving up money to come to practice. It would have been very easy to say, 'I'm fine.' But she didn't, and I'm so grateful for that. ”
Kratz said Boisvert “easily got over 10 blocks” in the loss.
Greenfield took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Hornets 15-5 to take a 31-24 lead. Kratz noted that the Hornets were “a little gassy” coming out of the locker room with four of McCann Tech's five varsity players playing in the joint game.
“Overall, it was a great game for the girls that showed how much they have grown from the beginning of the season to now,” Kratz said.
McCann Tech (2-12) concludes the regular season Thursday at Southwick.
