RED OAK, Iowa – Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced “Small Business of the Week” as Martin Hildreth Company of Calhoun County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize small businesses in all of his 99 counties in Iowa.
“With three generations of family-owned leadership, the Martin Hildreth Company embodies what it means to be a family-owned business.” said ranking member Ernst. “For 70 years, the Hildreth family has provided important excavation services in Calhoun County and worked hard to give back to the community and our nation's veterans.”
Martin Hildreth Company was founded in 1954 and provides excavation contract services in Calhoun County. Since its inception, the business has been located at the same location on Rockwell City's High Street, excavating for the telecommunications and utility industries and digging graves for local cemeteries. From involvement in wrestling and the Calhoun County Economic Development Corporation to supporting military employees, members of the Hildreth family are actively involved in both the Rockwell City and Calhoun County communities.
Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with this week's Small Business of the Year Award.
