I can't say I predicted when this day started that it would be an instant classic, but that's exactly what happened as Georgia Tech hit the ball wide to pull the upset in Raleigh. . North Carolina State had to fend off an insane performance from Dan, who hit not one, but two highly improbable threes to nearly make it to Tech.
The first one was about to run out of time, forcing overtime, and the second one was an outrageous lob from near the center of the court as the shot clock expired. The latter pulled the Jackets within 86-85 and ultimately gave them a chance to win. But Tech's contested last-second jumper missed, and State held on.

Give a lot of credit to the Pack who moved on from Tech's forced shot in overtime and quickly took control in overtime. North Carolina State never trailed, twice trailing by as many as six in overtime, but the Yellow Jackets couldn't afford to lose either.
Tech shot a season-high 47.8 percent from three, making 11 total, seven of which came from Dunn, who was unconscious. She shot 27.5 percent from 3-point range this season and was 7-9 this afternoon. So it happens sometimes.
Fortunately, Asiaha James was nearly as dominant on the other end, finishing with 30 on 11-for-20 shooting, including 9-for-12 from inside the arc. The Jackets didn't have much of an answer for her at any point. River Baldwin was also outstanding, especially in overtime, shooting 7-9 for the game.
It's pretty tough to overcome the difference in overall shooting ability, let alone the difference between the three, but the Wolfpack got on the glass, shooting 17-21 at the free throw line and shooting .60 from inside the arc. I managed to overcome this by achieving %. Puck has also gotten better with the ball.
While Tech posted the second-highest eFG% of the season and the best in league play by a wide margin, State managed to outperform everywhere else and was just barely good enough in the end.
