Texas Tech lost to Cincinnati 75-72, with the Red Raider's one-point lead disappearing in 35 seconds, resulting in their second consecutive loss in the Big 12.
It was Tech's first home loss in the Grant McCasland era.
Here are three takeaways from this match.
Robert Jennings' best night of the season
Starting center Warren Washington got into foul trouble early and had to sit out most of the first half, but Robert Jennings had the best performance of his two-year career at Tech. , scored a career-high 10 points in the first half.
Jennings scored the first four points of the second half as Washington returns to the game while dealing with an apparent back issue.
Jennings finished the game with 14 points, six rebounds and an assist to Cut Chance McMillian in the second half.
thin bench
With Lamar Washington out with an illness, the Red Raiders are short on guards, and DeMaurean Williams, who has played just 15 minutes this season, played in his first game since playing four minutes against North Alabama. That was shown.
Williams wasn't the only one added to the equation, as freshman big Emeri Yaraho checked in for the first time in conference play in Warren Washington's absence and helped Jennings.
Red Raiders can't find a way
On a night when the Red Raiders struggled to find consistency offensively, they just couldn't find a breakthrough.
It was never easy for Tech, who turned the ball over 11 times on the night, but didn't make any 3-pointers in the second half until Pop Isaacs converted on a break play with 35 seconds left in the game to take a 72-71 lead. I couldn't hit it.
After Cincinnati took the lead on the ensuing possession, Isaacs stared at the buzzer, which rolled off the rim. Tech didn't commit a single foul and lost 75-72.
Tech heads to Waco to take on Baylor on Tuesday night.
