Becoming an author is a great way to establish yourself as a real estate professional. If a publisher agrees to publish your book, you can reach a wider audience. Publishers typically have connections with retailers where they can display and sell their books to customers.
After choosing a real estate book topic and writing a proposal, the next step is usually finding a publisher. It's certainly possible to produce your own book, but be aware that doing so may reduce your chances of reaching a large audience. If you want to be on the bestseller list, working with a reputable publisher will greatly increase your chances.
Follow these steps to find the right publisher for your book.
1. Ask for references

While signing a deal with a major publisher can be a big milestone, there can also be benefits to working with a smaller, independent publisher. These locations are often more flexible and may take a customized approach or focus on specific markets. If you live near a local publisher, it may be worth building a relationship with them to reach your community. You can also share your book at local real estate events and highlight properties in the area on your page.
Finding the right agent or publisher often takes a considerable amount of time. In addition to talking to others, you may need to perform some research yourself. It may take several additional hours to establish the initial connection and follow submission guidelines.
