The Lynn Tech men's basketball team accomplished a lot Wednesday night. The Tigers recorded a home win against Lowell Catholic, had three players reach double figures, and qualified for the MIAA Division 4 state tournament.
Giovanni Jean led the way with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists in Wednesday's 64-54 final. He was followed by his partners in crime Ederic Gonzalez (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Andy Batista (10 points, 5 assists). Brandon Antwine did a little bit of everything with seven points, four assists and four steals.
As of Wednesday, Tech held the No. 8 spot in Division 4, which has 76 teams. The Tigers are 10-2 and 6-1 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference.

Sometimes, rescuing your tie is all you need – especially when you're on the go. The St. Mary's men's hockey team tied 2-2 with Arlington Catholic on Wednesday night.
The Frames ended scoreless after a competitive first period for the Spartans, who outscored Arlington Catholic 12-3. Finn Racki scored a goal in the second period, but St. Mary's was looking up at the scoreboard at 2-1.
Oh, Captain. Cam McGonagle tied the score for the Spartans with 6:08 left in the third period. The game ended in overtime with neither team able to find the back of the net, but St. Mary's won 33-24 in the shots department.

St. John's Preparation 1
St. John's Prep did a lot of things right in this game, but No. 6 Catholic Memorial scored in the final minute of overtime to defeat the top-seeded Eagles (12-2) in Division I. It was an upset.
Prep, which had nearly twice as many shots as Catholic Memorial, had a goal by Caleb White off an assist from Kam Umrah. AJ Juarez played well between the pipes for the host Eagles.

Despite Marblehead goaltender Scarlett Lee holding her own with 21 saves, the Lady Headers were unable to find an answer against traveling Gloucester.
“Sophomore forward Madeline Graber fought every shift.” [on] Both sides of the ice,” first-year Marblehead coach Hadley Woodfin said. “We continued our momentum and had a strong presence on the ice tonight.”

Prep easily handled St. John's, improving its record to 32-0 and 5-0 in the Catholic Conference. Wednesday marked the Eagles' 119th consecutive conference win.
The winning prep wrestlers were Graham Conway, Ben Schumacher, Braydon Gose, Beauden Dormer, Jimmy Lally, Ryan DeSouza, Jayden D'Ambrosio, Matt Pineiro, Vincent Bilotti, Lani Haddad, Mark Pineiro, It was Alex Bahoras.
Prep will host the Division 1 dual meet state tournament Saturday at 11 a.m.
