Pasadena-based engineering and infrastructure company Tetra Tech Co., Ltd. has launched another major water project in the UK.
Tetra Tech announced the following late last month: united utilitiesThe company, one of the UK's largest water utilities, has awarded the company a 10-year contract worth around $127 million to help improve the health of rivers across the north-west of England.
Tetra Tech engineers and scientists analyze project options to improve river health and select preferred options based on best value, lowest carbon footprint, and cost.
Tetra Tech inherited its business relationship with United Utilities when it acquired UK-based Abingdon-on-Thames RPS Group for $691 million in late 2022. RPS has extensive environmental and infrastructure services contracts across the UK, as well as other European Union countries and Australia.
“Our RPS business in the UK has been providing high-end modeling, technology, operations and critical infrastructure services to United Utilities for 20 years,” he said. Dan BatluckCEO of Tetra Tech.
This is the third water services contract Tetra Tech has secured in the UK through its RPS acquisition in the past eight months. In December, Tetra Tech announced his five-year agreement with Ireland's leading water operator to support its upcoming capital investment program. And in June, Scottish Water, Scotland's public water utility, signed an eight-year contract worth approximately $75 million to Tetra Tech's RPS division to provide comprehensive asset management services.
Separately, Tetra Tech also reported strong quarterly earnings for the three months ended December 31st. Revenue for the quarter reached $1.02 billion, an increase of 38% year over year. However, net income attributable to the company was $75 million, down from $117 million a year earlier.
