In recent months, comedian David Oyando aka Mlamwa and his ex-girlfriend Carole Sonny have been in the spotlight for their public spat and revelations about their co-parenting journey.

Since their romantic relationship ended in 2022, their relationship has been full of ups and downs and has been attracting attention.

Mlamwa (real name David Oyando) and Carol Sonny have a daughter.

Their romantic relationship may be over, but their journey as co-parents is sure to continue, albeit with its own set of challenges.

However, due to the public nature of their relationship, their differences and conflicts have been in the spotlight, with both parties venting their frustrations on social media.

From accusations of child neglect to disputes over child support, Mlamwa and Carol Sonny's public interactions have sparked discussion and debate among their supporters and the broader public.

In February, Mlamwa shared court documents in which she accused the baby's mother of refusing to see her child, among other things.

Mulamuwa and Sony should know about the impact social media attacks have on children

Social media has become an integral part of our lives, creating a platform for communication, expression, and connection.

But when used irresponsibly, it can become a battleground for harmful behavior, especially among separated or divorced parents.

These parents often attack each other in public, displaying their frustrations and conflicts for all to see.

This phenomenon, known as “toxic parenting,” can have particularly severe effects on children caught in the crossfire.

When parents vent their frustrations on social media, they expose their children to a toxic environment filled with hostility, negativity, and conflict.

Although some children may be young, they will grow up to witness their parents' public aggression, and these can be extremely distressing and psychologically damaging for children.

These children may struggle to navigate the complexities of a broken relationship between their parents and may feel torn between their loyalties to their parents.

Furthermore, children may internalize the negative emotions they see on social media, blaming themselves for their parents' conflicts or feeling responsible for their parents' unhappiness.

This can lead to feelings of guilt, low self-esteem, and emotional distress, which can affect your overall well-being and mental health.

Additionally, exposure to harmful parenting behaviors on social media can have long-term effects on children's development and relationships.

It can undermine your trust in your parents and your ability to have healthy relationships in the future.

Children may have a hard time establishing boundaries, communicating effectively, and resolving conflicts constructively because they have learned unhealthy behavior patterns from their parents' example.

In addition to emotional harm, harmful parenting behaviors on social media can also have practical consequences for children.

Public attacks and conflicts between parents can disrupt co-parenting arrangements, making it difficult for children to maintain stable and consistent relationships with both parents.

It can also complicate legal issues and custody arrangements, adding to the stress and anxiety for the children.

Therefore, it is very important that parents are aware of the impact their actions have on their children and prioritize their child's well-being above all else.

Instead of attacking in public or venting their frustrations on social media, parents should look for healthier means of communication and conflict resolution.

This may include seeking professional support, such as therapy or counseling, to address underlying issues and develop effective co-parenting strategies.
