University College Cork (UCC) has newly released. Entrepreneur in Residence A program that promotes and encourages entrepreneurial activity among UCC staff, students, and alumni.
The university hopes to encourage, create and support 50 new ventures over the next two years.
Five entrepreneurs support the program and mentor participants who want to start or grow a new business.
The five entrepreneurs at UCC are:
• Deirdre Motel – Founding CEO of Rethink Ireland, serial social entrepreneur.
• donald daly – Founder and Executive Chairman of Future Planet.
• rick livesey – Neuroscientist, Scientist, Founder and CEO of Talisman Therapeutics.
• Liz Shanahan – A life sciences entrepreneur with extensive experience advising the world's leading pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations.
• Ray Alcorn – Engineer, Exceedence CEO and Renewable Energy Business Specialist.
The quintet are all former staff or alumni of UCC.
Professor John CryanUCC's Vice President of Research and Innovation commented:
“Many of our entrepreneurs-in-residence are leaders in the field of sustainability, rethinking and tackling the complex social, environmental, and political challenges facing the world. These are two key thematic areas of our UCC Futures Program.”
Dr. Sally CudmoreDirector of UCC Innovation, said, “Our five entrepreneurs are seasoned and seasoned executives with expertise in building and scaling companies.”
EIR program manager kevin dalton Additionally, “UCC’s Entrepreneurs-in-Residence bring specialized subject matter expertise and extensive professional networks that students, alumni, and staff can leverage to accelerate the transformation of promising ideas and new technologies into new businesses. .
