A house with a fairytale-style turret is on sale by the man who helped his father build it.
The home is a four-bed, three-and-a-half bathroom home on a lake in Apopka, Fla., northeast of Orlando, according to the listing by Janine Arrowsmith of NextHome Arrowsmith Realty. Listed for $1,225,000, it's clear from the outside that this home is something a little special.
“People still stop and take pictures. It's amazing,” the home's owner, Michael Cooper, told USA TODAY in an interview. “When I'm outside mowing, people stop…When I lived there for 20 years, I was like, 'What are you guys doing? It's just a house.' is.”

Florida home owner built castle home with father
Cooper said he helped his father build a house when he was in his early 20s. The house was originally a spec home sold to an elderly gentleman in 1989, but Cooper moved out in 2005 when the first resident passed away.
While building it, Cooper was perplexed by his father's design choices. Cooper said his father, now 81, still designs homes, many of which have unique looks like this one.
“All of his homes are completely different,” Cooper said. “He has a very good imagination when it comes to architecture.”
As Cooper's two sons grew up and left home, he and his wife were considering moving to another house in the neighborhood.
“The fun part was building the building and living in it. That's what makes it special,” he said.
