Valparaiso University and Ivy Tech Community College have announced a dual enrollment program that allows students to enroll in both schools at the same time.
The new dual enrollment program is also intended to provide students with a smooth transition to Valpo after earning an associate degree at Ivy Tech.
To be eligible for this program, students must be admitted to Ivy Tech and complete a dual admission application to both schools. TYou must also earn an associate's degree from Ivy Tech and complete an application to transfer to Valpo's degree program.
Students accepted into the dual enrollment program receive academic advising from both institutions. Eligible students also receive her Valpo Transfer Scholarship of $23,000 per year.
While attending Ivy Tech, students receive a Valpo email and student ID that allows them to participate in university programs such as athletic events and theater performances, and access the library system.

“We look forward to working with Ivy Tech to enhance the education of our region's outstanding young people,” said Valpo President Jose Padilla. “This partnership will play a major role in educating and retaining a diverse workforce that will benefit our community.”
Ivy Tech Valparaiso President Ako Sikoski called the dual enrollment program a “great new partnership” between the two schools.
“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing a seamless and supportive college experience for our students,” Sikosky said.
Students participating in the program must earn an associate's degree from Ivy Tech and complete an application to transfer to a degree program at Valpo. You also cannot attend any other educational institution while at Ivy Tech and Valpo. If attendance at either school takes her more than one semester off, the student must reapply.
