WIU School of Management and Marketing joins NRF student program

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – – Western Illinois University College of Business and Marketing students participated in the 2024 National Retail Federation Student Program (NRF) in January.
“The NRF-Student Program is a great opportunity for students to hear from top retail industry executives about current retail trends and how to join and succeed in the retail industry. “It provides networking and potential mentoring opportunities,” said Susan Creasey, assistant professor of management and marketing at WIU. “Having a student program in New York City allows students to see retail on a larger scale.”
WIU Student Ambassador Leah Ahlers, a third-year marketing major, Madison Butts, a Ray Greenlee Scholar and a fourth-year supply chain management major, and Rising Star recipient Caitlin Moon, a sophomore management major, join more than 1,300 students. and participated in a two-day program in New York City. university student.
This opportunity allowed WIU students to explore unique opportunities in retail and expand their knowledge of the dynamic world of retail. They were able to hear from retail executives from a variety of areas including marketing, management, supply chain, entrepreneurship, technology, human resources, and more. Additionally, students explored career paths at a high-profile career fair featuring over 30 retail companies. All received scholarships provided by NRF to participate in the NRF Student Program.
WIU senior Peace Agbavito, a marketing major, has been selected as a student ambassador for the 2025 NRF Student Program.
